What material is HEPA?
The materials of HEPA filters are mostly made of chemical fibers and glass fibers, which are randomly arranged to form layers of fine and irregular filters, thereby cutting off air particles of all sizes. Generally speaking, the thicker the HEPA filter, the better the filtration effect, and the deeper the filter fold, the better the filtration effect.
There are many materials that make up HEPA, which can be divided into (1) PP (polypropylene) high-efficiency filter paper, (2) PET filter paper, (3) PP and PET composite high-efficiency filter paper, and (4) fiberglass high-efficiency filter paper.
1. PP high-efficiency filter paper
It is a new type of filter material made from polypropylene as raw material through specialized hot melt method. The product is acid and alkali resistant, corrosion-resistant, with high melting point, stable performance, non-toxic, odorless, evenly distributed, and has characteristics such as low resistance, high efficiency, high strength, and environmental protection.
2. PET filter paper
It is made by melting and spraying materials such as polyester resin, with high hardness, good stiffness, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and stable performance. It is commonly used in household appliances or large cleaning machines with low filtration accuracy requirements such as sweepers and vacuum cleaners.
3. Composite filter paper (PP and PET)
Composite filter paper, in simple terms, is to melt spray a layer of PP and then melt spray a layer of PET, so that it combines the advantages of PP and PET: easy to shape, and can ensure filtration accuracy; It has both stiffness and ensures high-precision filtering effect.
4. Fiberglass high-efficiency filter paper
Fiberglass high-efficiency filter paper is a type of filter paper with a very high gold content, which has been used in the industrial field before. Fiberglass has good corrosion resistance and filtration performance, but it is relatively brittle, has poor wear resistance, and has a higher resistance compared to PP HEPA filters.
